Meet the LA Occupiers. Bri, 28, La Puente & Christina, 31, La Puente. Photo taken at South Lawn during Global Solidarity Day.
Bri: “I’m here for equal rights for women… especially in the workplace. I know if I had a penis and a mustache, I’d be respected equally at work. I think women should hold higher leadership positions! Not too long ago, women died for our right to vote, so now I’m fighting for me and for future generations to come.”
Christina: “I’m here cause, in respect to women’s rights, I want to support and raise awareness for women. I care about women all over the world. You should see “My Tehran for Sale”. The woman in the film was sentenced to a year in jail and 90 lashes because she showed her hair. In real life! Women in Africa are punished and stoned to death for being raped. So, I support women of all the world. I’m here for everyone, for all the women of the 99%”
