Helping the Poor is Now Apparently Anti-Bible
Rick Warren was on ABC’s This Week yesterday, and Jake Tapper asked him what he thought about President Obama’s suggestion that God tells us to care for those less fortunate than ourselves.
“I do not believe in wealth redistribution, I believe in wealth creation.” - Pastor Rick Warren
So much for Matthew 19:21 and Luke 12:33. Why use the words of Jesus when dealing with the poor.
Is it not kind of weird that religious types in America have so completely merged the notions of Christianity and capitalism? It is as if these preachers are not primarily concerned with religious matters at all, but are using religion to further a secular political cause.
More than a few Republicans like to follow the idea of the “wealth gospel” to push the concept that if you are rich it is because you have God’s favor, and that taking money to help the poor is wrong.
This is also the same “personal responsibility” autocrat who, a few years ago, was begging his members to pay off his tax free church’s $900K debt which he blamed on “expenses in caring for our community”.
Help Rick when he needs help, but not others. Great insights into the man.

Wow, Christians not following the bible, because it doesn’t suit them. There’s a change.
